Wildcat formation

Installing the youth football wildcat offense can be a tricky proposition for the young coaches, but thanks to the new Video clinic mentioned in this post, it is a snap!  The youth football wildcat offense relies on many different timing factors in order to be successful.  Since little kid sports does not provide enough practice time to perfect such a complicated system, you need to have it tweaked down and made simpler for the age group it is being used for.

The youth football wildcat offense, when installed correct is almost impossible for the defense to defend with any success.  Our version of the youth football wildcat offense keeps the  strengths intact, while making it possible to add to your game plan, even with limited practice time.  When using the youth football wildcat offense you will, more than likely, not bother pulling any offensive lineman, since this is usually a waste of time.  If you don’t believe me, go to You Tube and check out any of the single wing plays being run up there for pop warner level teams.  Ninety nine percent of the time the running backs are out running the pulling guards.  It is a waste of time to pull any lineman, on any play, but especially on the sweep series.

Every coach that plans on trying to use the youth football wildcat offense must be prepared to drill the snap, handoffs and fakes hundreds of times before the first game.  As shown in our video, the timing is most important since we want every play to look the same.  The defense cannot be allowed to know where the play is heading, or the system will not succeed.  It takes many hours of practice to make sure every play looks the same.
